Very interesting site. Why do Muslims believe in a religion that advocates so much violence? Perhaps their deep conditioning in early life may not allow them the freedom to think otherwise. I wish that more Muslims responded to the questions posed to them (the verses from the Quran) instead of going off a tangent.

Mudasirt, Dr. Naik tells fibs. He's a showman and bamboozles Muslims with his recitation of the verses of the Qur'an without really telling the truth about how dangerous and inhuman those verses are.

Don't rely on Dr. Naik, read the Qur'an in translation (by reputable Muslim translators such as Yusuf Ali, Picktahll etc.) and you will lear how many of the verses teachings are contradictory to each other and more importantly the Qur'an teaches enmity and conflicts.

The Qur'an verses are not unlike the variety of choices one finds in a smorgasbord. Anyone can choose whatever verse to justify his or her actions. There are tolerant and good verses, and there are violent and inhumane ones as well.

So the good Muslims would concentrate on doing what is enjoyned by Allah to do good deeds. Others will follow the demands of Allah to cause murder and mayham in the name of Islam.

Each group of Muslims believes and is convinced they are doing what their Allah wants them to do.

@Devout Muslim, like many Muslims you talk about the beauty of the Qur’anic Arabic as proof that the verses therein are from on high. I was wondering , just because some writings are impecable then automatically they are qualified to be ‘holy’. You will agree with me that there hundreds if not thousands of books, novels, etc. written in many different languages that are universally thought of as beuatiful and impecable but no one thinks of them as being from God!

A scripture is holy only if it contains teachingss that are good, moral, noble, etc. A scripture that teaches discrimination against people of other beliefs and of different skin colour, and against women is definitely not holy. Especially when it also teaches violence, and being hypocritical: :in one part it teaches tolerance (‘your religion is for you, our religion is for us. There’s no compulsion in Islam’), but many other parts advocate murder to murtadin, to those who leave Islam. One verse states that it’s forbidden for a Muslim to kill himself, but others tell them that Allah will reward those who die (‘jihad’) for Islam! No wonder the world is beset with suicide bombers who hope to be married to 72 virgins in Janna!

History is written by the victor – so goes the adage. Whilst Islam teaches that fighting is only allowed to defend one’s home and religion, from Hijrah the Islamic hordes attacked the innocent, robbed, raped, enslaved and butchered nations (See my posting 18/06/11). Muslims even claim that the other peoples – Jews, Christians, Hindus, Egyptian Copts, etc. – started the the whole murderous raids. Remember it was the Muslims who attacked Jerusalem back in 8th century and yet to this day Muslims ignorant of their murderous history, blame the Christians for starting the Crusades.

Returning to the claim that the Qur’anic Arabic is perfect, beautiful and impecable, it might be educational for you (I suspect you’re not an Arabic speaker) to check Answering Islam website and read comments on the ‘beauty’ of the the Qur’anic Arabic. I hope you don’t swallow whole the claim of the Qur’an that no one (even with the help of the Jinns) would be able to write a verse as beautiful as any of the Qur’an’s. My friend, read Surah Al Jinn 72 – the 28 verses are acceptable to Muslims and Allah as genuine ‘holy’ and ‘beautiful’ verses beccause they are in the Qur’an and yet these words are suppossedly uttered by a bunch of Jinns, the Evil ones!
